Principles of Mathematics 10 Item-Level Response Reports

Provincial Item-Level Response Reports include data for all BC students in Grade 10 who wrote a particular Form of the Math 10 exam in English, in June 2006 and June 2007. For June 2008 and 2009, the provincial reports include all students who wrote the exam either in English or French. The information is reported by major organizers (curriculum domains): Number, Patterns and Relations, Shape and Space, Statistics and Probability (only in 2006 and 2007). A separate report is produced for Numerical Response questions, all domains. Both public and independent schools are included. The Math provincial Item-Level Response Reports display the proportion of students who made errors on each test item and a description of the misconception.

Five reports are available:

  • Number (MC, TF, MT)
  • Patterns and Relations (MC, TF, MT)
  • Shape and Space (MC, TF, MT)
  • Statistics and Probability (MC, TF, MT)
  • Numerical response (all domains)

Note: In 2007, the first 4 reports contain only multiple choice (MC) items. In 2008 and 2009, there are only three domain-based reports (Number, Patterns and Relations, Shape and Space).
